Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Lake Nemi with Two Friars by Richard Wilson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,257.88), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Monk in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 420,068.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lake Nemi with Two Friars von Richard Wilson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.287,50 (€ 9.257,88) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Wilson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Monk im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.000,00 (€ 420.068,76).
