Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work A skirmish in rowing-boats in the Bay of Baiae, an island beyond by Richard Wilson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,729.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Monk in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 420,068.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A skirmish in rowing-boats in the Bay of Baiae, an island beyond von Richard Wilson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.729,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Wilson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Monk im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.000,00 (€ 420.068,76).
