Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Westall could be acquired at Christies in London in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art auction, the work Woods near Clifton, Bristol changed hands for GBP 1,134.00 (€ 1,344.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Westall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Faust and Lilith in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,138.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Westall konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art wechselte die Arbeit Woods near Clifton, Bristol für GBP 1.134,00 (€ 1.344,48) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Westall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Faust and Lilith im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.138,59).
