This artwork by Richard Westall achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2016. In the Old Master and British Paintings auction, the work Henry Iv, Part I, Act Iii, Scene I sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,153.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Richard Westall; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Faust and Lilith sold at auction in December 2012 with the realized price of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,138.59).
