Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Westall could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction, the work Venus and cupids changed hands for GBP 8,500.00 (€ 10,150.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Westall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Faust and Lilith in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,138.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Westall konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 wechselte die Arbeit Venus and cupids für GBP 8.500,00 (€ 10.150,51) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Westall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Faust and Lilith im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.138,59).
