Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Greta, 2006 by Richard Wathen was sold in the Contemporary Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2018. The price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,839.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Wathen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lower Kingdom in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 65,108.38).

Die Arbeit Greta, 2006 von Richard Wathen wurde im September 2018 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.839,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden.
