In April this year Bonhams held the auction London ColourModern British Art Online, which included the work Window 3 by Richard Smith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,196.79), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tip Top in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 131,250.00 (€ 149,469.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion London ColourModern British Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Window 3 von Richard Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.196,79) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tip Top im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.250,00 (€ 149.469,26).
