Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Shaw could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Childhood Well Spent, 1993 changed hands for USD 1,083.75 (€ 896.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Shaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Skull and Glass, 2009 in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 5,325.00 (€ 4,883.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Shaw konnte im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Childhood Well Spent, 1993 für USD 1.083,75 (€ 896,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Shaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Skull and Glass, 2009 im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.325,00 (€ 4.883,08).
