This work of art by Richard Shaw could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE JOHN W. KLUGE MORVEN COLLECTION auction, the work Sofa Landscape changed hands for USD 480.00 (€ 405.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Skull and Glass, 2009 in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 5,325.00 (€ 4,883.08).
