Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Train Wreck and Large Stella #1 by Richard Pettibone. The price achieved of USD 52,920.00 (€ 48,675.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Pettibone achieve. Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Train Wreck and Large Stella #1 von Richard Pettibone zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 48.675,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Pettibone erzielen.
