Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rain on a Stone by Richard Long was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,442.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Long achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 171,379.61).

Die Arbeit Rain on a Stone von Richard Long wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.442,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Long erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 171.379,61).
