Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work The Oculist Witnesses (Marcel Duchamp) (L. p. 264) by Richard Hamilton for GBP 508.00 (€ 850.22). This price was achieved in the auction Evening & Day Editions at Phillips in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Hamilton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Epiphany in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 557,000.00 (€ 768,020.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Oculist Witnesses (Marcel Duchamp) (L. p. 264) von Richard Hamilton für GBP 508,00 (€ 850,22) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Hamilton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Epiphany im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 557.000,00 (€ 768.020,27).
