Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Part I, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Anne Apsley, Circa 1670 by Richard Gibson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,063.74) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Gibson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A fine portrait miniature of Barbara Villiers, Duchess of Cleveland (1640-1709), in gold dress with puffed sleeves, slashed to reveal white underdress and fastened at shoulder with three pearl-set bands, diamond-set crucifix worn at corsage, wearing in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 36,071.62)
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A fine portrait miniature of Barbara Villiers, Duchess of Cleveland (1640-1709), in gold dress with puffed sleeves, slashed to reveal white underdress and fastened at shoulder with three pearl-set bands, diamond-set crucifix worn at corsage, wearing im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 36.071,62).
