Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of the Howard-Vyse family by the lake at Stoke Place by Richard Barrett Davis was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,626.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Richard Barrett Davis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British sir Roger De Coverly And His Hounds in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 19,208.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of the Howard-Vyse family by the lake at Stoke Place von Richard Barrett Davis kam im November 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.626,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Barrett Davis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British sir Roger De Coverly And His Hounds im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 19.208,99).
