Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work British Edmund Simpson, Esq. Of Shropshire With His Favorite Hunter by Richard Barrett Davis for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,382.76). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Barrett Davis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work British sir Roger De Coverly And His Hounds, which sold at auction in May 2012 for USD 23,750.00 (€ 19,208.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit British Edmund Simpson, Esq. Of Shropshire With His Favorite Hunter von Richard Barrett Davis für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.382,76) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Sporting Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Barrett Davis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit British sir Roger De Coverly And His Hounds beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für USD 23.750,00 (€ 19.208,99) versteigert wurde.
