In the Photographs auction, the work 'Dorian Leigh, Evening Dress by Piguet, Helena Rubinstein Apartment, Paris', August 1949 sold for GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,355.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Avedon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London in November last year with an auction result of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28).
