In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Self Portrait) by Richard Aldrich. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,031.85), 64% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Richard Aldrich have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 61,195.32).

Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Self Portrait) von Richard Aldrich zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.031,85) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Aldrich auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 61.195,32).
