Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Metric Conversion by Rene Ricard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,595.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rene Ricard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Blow-jobs...) in March this year with an auction result of USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,357.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2017 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Metric Conversion von Rene Ricard zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.595,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rene Ricard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Blow-jobs...) im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 46.357,62).
