Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Queen Mother of the West Xiwangmu by Ren Xiong for USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,493.73). This price was achieved in the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part IV at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ren Xiong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drinking Cards with Illustrations of Daoist Immortals in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 5,765,000.00 (€ 668,633.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Queen Mother of the West Xiwangmu von Ren Xiong für USD 12.750,00 (€ 11.493,73) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part IV bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ren Xiong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Drinking Cards with Illustrations of Daoist Immortals im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.765.000,00 (€ 668.633,27).
