Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ren Xiong could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Mythical Characters changed hands for HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,566.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ren Xiong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drinking Cards with Illustrations of Daoist Immortals in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 5,765,000.00 (€ 668,633.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ren Xiong konnte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Mythical Characters für HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.566,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ren Xiong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Drinking Cards with Illustrations of Daoist Immortals im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.765.000,00 (€ 668.633,27).
