Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work De Kooning Breaks Through by Red Grooms was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,802.07). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Red Grooms achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Joltin' Joe Takes a Swing in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 83,382.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit De Kooning Breaks Through von Red Grooms kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.802,07) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Red Grooms erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Joltin' Joe Takes a Swing im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 83.382,61).
