In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Dropping a Log by Ray Richardson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,862.09), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ray Richardson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ostenders in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 37,666.96).

Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dropping a Log von Ray Richardson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.862,09) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ray Richardson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ostenders im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 37.666,96).
