In June 2012 Christies in London held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Veil III by Rashid Rana. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 25,000.00 (€ 30,955.95), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Rana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil #6 in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Veil III von Rashid Rana zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 30.955,95) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Rana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil #6 im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 325.250,00 (€ 413.233,79).
