Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2014 Christies in London held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Two Dimensions by Rashid Rana. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,427.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Rana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil #6 in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Dimensions von Rashid Rana zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 23.427,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Rana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil #6 im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 325.250,00 (€ 413.233,79).
