Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dis-Location-2 by Rashid Rana was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary auction at Christies in New York in March 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 19,960.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Rana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil #6 in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dis-Location-2 von Rashid Rana wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 19.960,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Rana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil #6 im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 325.250,00 (€ 413.233,79).
