Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Rashid Rana could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Dead Bird Flying - 6 changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,619.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Rana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil #6 in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rashid Rana konnte im März 2014 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Dead Bird Flying - 6 für USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.619,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Rana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil #6 im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 325.250,00 (€ 413.233,79).
