Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Raphael Lamar West could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES auction, the work Christ changed hands for GBP 528.75 (€ 759.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raphael Lamar West achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Honeoye Lake, Ontario County, New York State in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,626.78).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Raphael Lamar West konnte im November 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES wechselte die Arbeit Christ für GBP 528,75 (€ 759,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raphael Lamar West erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View of Honeoye Lake, Ontario County, New York State im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.626,78).
