Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Raphael Lamar West could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Pictures & Old Master Drawings auction, the work Jason and the Dragon, after Rosa changed hands for GBP 812.50 (€ 853.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raphael Lamar West achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Honeoye Lake, Ontario County, New York State in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,626.78).
