Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ralph Rumney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2016. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Untitled (blue) sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,911.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ralph Rumney; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tachiste Painting - Red, White, Blue sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of GBP 14,025.00 (€ 15,983.93).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ralph Rumney erzielte im Juli 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (blue) für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.911,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ralph Rumney; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Tachiste Painting - Red, White, Blue im April diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 14.025,00 (€ 15.983,93).
