Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Paesaggio by Ralph Rumney. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,755.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ralph Rumney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tachiste Painting - Red, White, Blue, which sold at auction in April this year for GBP 14,025.00 (€ 15,983.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Paesaggio von Ralph Rumney zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.755,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ralph Rumney mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tachiste Painting - Red, White, Blue beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für GBP 14.025,00 (€ 15.983,93) versteigert wurde.
