Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Christies in New York held the auction Important Americana, which included the work Riverscape With Duck Hunting by Ralph Cahoon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 23,940.00 (€ 22,048.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ralph Cahoon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Luck of the Sailfish Club, which sold at auction in January 2007 for USD 96,000.00 (€ 73,857.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Americana durch, in der auch die Arbeit Riverscape With Duck Hunting von Ralph Cahoon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 22.048,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ralph Cahoon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Luck of the Sailfish Club beobachtet, die im Januar 2007 für USD 96.000,00 (€ 73.857,52) versteigert wurde.
