This artwork by Ralph Albert Blakelock achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2012. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman auction, the work Moonlight sold for USD 56,250.00 (€ 42,185.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ralph Albert Blakelock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Stilly Night in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 193,287.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ralph Albert Blakelock erzielte im März 2012 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman wurde die Arbeit Moonlight für USD 56.250,00 (€ 42.185,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Albert Blakelock auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Stilly Night im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 193.287,25).
