Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work A Saw Mill in the Woods by Ralph Albert Blakelock. It changed hands for a price of USD 77,500.00 (€ 68,974.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ralph Albert Blakelock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stilly Night, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 212,500.00 (€ 193,287.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Saw Mill in the Woods von Ralph Albert Blakelock zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 77.500,00 (€ 68.974,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ralph Albert Blakelock mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stilly Night beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 212.500,00 (€ 193.287,25) versteigert wurde.
