Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The entrance to the Grand Canal, Venice by Rafael Senet was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in March 2009. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,347.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rafael Senet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vista De La Plaza De San Marco Con Santa Maria Della Salute Al Fondo (View Towards St. Mark'S Square With Santa Maria Della Salute In The Distance) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 24,500.00 (€ 34,306.34).
