In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art, which included the work Standing Tablet from the Salome series by Rachid Koraïchi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 50,700.00 (€ 59,643.72), 45% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rachid Koraïchi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scrutateur De L’Arrière Passion (Scrutineer Of The Hidden Passion) in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 505,012.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Tablet from the Salome series von Rachid Koraïchi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 50.700,00 (€ 59.643,72) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rachid Koraïchi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scrutateur De L’Arrière Passion (Scrutineer Of The Hidden Passion) im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 505.012,15).
