Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rachel Nicholson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2019. In the Modern | British Art auction, the work Still Life with Jug and Fork sold for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,871.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rachel Nicholson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Composition on Black and Green with Two Cups sold at auction in September last year with the realized price of GBP 5,355.00 (€ 6,094.51).
