Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Mother (fear of fear) by Rachel Howard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 38,993.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rachel Howard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Painting, which sold at auction in February 2008 for USD 132,000.00 (€ 86,916.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mother (fear of fear) von Rachel Howard zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 38.993,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Rachel Howard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Painting beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für USD 132.000,00 (€ 86.916,44) versteigert wurde.
