This artwork by Rabindranath Tagore achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Treescape With Palm) sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 64,007.08) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rabindranath Tagore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Couple) in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 637,500.00 (€ 550,660.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rabindranath Tagore erzielte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Treescape With Palm) für USD 68.750,00 (€ 64.007,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rabindranath Tagore auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Couple) im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 637.500,00 (€ 550.660,79).
