QUIK (B. 1958) Devo signed 'LIN' (lower center); signed again, titled and dated 'Lin Felton JAN 3RD 1983 QUIK DEVO' (on the overlap); signed, titled, inscribed and dated again 'For My Loving Mom By: Linwood Felton 83' (on the reverse) spray paint and acrylic on canvas 48 x 36 in. (121.9 x 91.4 cm.) Painted in 1983.

In December last year Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Devo by Quik. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,888.95), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Quik have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wonderwoman in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 26,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Devo von Quik zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.888,95) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Quik auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wonderwoman im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 26.000,00.
