This artwork by Qiu Anxiong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art Asia auction, the work Landscape sold for USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,983.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Qiu Anxiong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In The Sky, which sold at auction in April 2014 for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 16,276.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qiu Anxiong erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia wurde die Arbeit Landscape für USD 9.375,00 (€ 7.983,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Qiu Anxiong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In The Sky beobachtet, die im April 2014 für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 16.276,14) versteigert wurde.
