The work Portrait of a Lady by Qi Zhilong was sold in the NO REGRETS: 20th/21st Century Art Online Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year. It achieved a price of HKD 40,320.00 (€ 41,174.61), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. Admittedly, works by Qi Zhilong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chinese Girl Series No.1 in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 3,847,500.00 (€ 317,082.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady von Qi Zhilong wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion NO REGRETS: 20th/21st Century Art Online Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 40.320,00 (€ 41.174,61) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qi Zhilong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chinese Girl Series No.1 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.847.500,00 (€ 317.082,64).
