In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Asian Contemporary Art Online: featuring the Chaney Family Collection, which included the work New Springs by Qi Zhilong. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,011.93), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Qi Zhilong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chinese Girl Series No.1 in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 3,847,500.00 (€ 317,082.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art Online: featuring the Chaney Family Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit New Springs von Qi Zhilong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.011,93) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Qi Zhilong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chinese Girl Series No.1 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.847.500,00 (€ 317.082,64).
