Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Bamboo And Bird by Pu Xian was worth HKD 129,800.00 (€ 14,835.95) to a buyer in October 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pu Xian; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Birds And Flowers sold at auction in October 2004 with the realized price of HKD 215,100.00 (€ 21,668.63).
