Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fruit and flowers on a partially draped table by Pseudo-Simons was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,702.53). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pseudo-Simons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grapes on the vine, plums, apples, pears and other fruit and flowers all in a wicker basket, a red squirrel eating acorns, a partially peeled lemon on a silver dish with cherries, oranges and figs on a stone table ledge; and Grapes on the vine, plums in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 47,800.00 (€ 73,935.78)
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grapes on the vine, plums, apples, pears and other fruit and flowers all in a wicker basket, a red squirrel eating acorns, a partially peeled lemon on a silver dish with cherries, oranges and figs on a stone table ledge; and Grapes on the vine, plums im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.800,00 (€ 73.935,78).
