Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Preston Dickinson could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Man Reading changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 9,640.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Preston Dickinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life No. 1 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 534,651.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Preston Dickinson konnte im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Man Reading für USD 15.000,00 (€ 9.640,10) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Preston Dickinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life No. 1 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 534.651,87).
