Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Harlem River Bridge by Preston Dickinson was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,292.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Preston Dickinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life No. 1 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 534,651.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Harlem River Bridge von Preston Dickinson im Mai 2004 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.352,50 (€ 9.292,38) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Preston Dickinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life No. 1 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 534.651,87).
