Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, full-length, in a gold-embroidered waistcoat and brown coat, holding a cane, his dog beside him by Pietro Longhi was sold in the IMPORTANT OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in London in December 2000. The price achieved of GBP 47,000.00 (€ 74,870.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pietro Longhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Elephant in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,314,500.00 (€ 1,005,046.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, full-length, in a gold-embroidered waistcoat and brown coat, holding a cane, his dog beside him von Pietro Longhi wurde im Dezember 2000 in der Auktion IMPORTANT OLD MASTER PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.000,00 (€ 74.870,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
