Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Il Baciamano" by Pietro Longhi was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 54,277.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pietro Longhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Elephant in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,314,500.00 (€ 1,005,046.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Il Baciamano" von Pietro Longhi im Juli 2013 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 47.500,00 (€ 54.277,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pietro Longhi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Elephant im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.314.500,00 (€ 1.005.046,26).
