A top price for Pietro Longhi
The work The Elephant by Pietro Longhi was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. It achieved a price of USD 1,314,500.00 (€ 1,005,046.26), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. With this result, The Elephant is even the most expensive work of art by Pietro Longhi that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit The Elephant von Pietro Longhi wurde im Februar 2013 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.314.500,00 (€ 1.005.046,26) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist The Elephant sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Pietro Longhi, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
