Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper, which included the work Draped Female Figure Leaning On A Pedestal by Pietro Antonio Novelli. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,788.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pietro Antonio Novelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Neptune, Standing, Facing Left, A Dolphin At His Feet in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,931.63).

Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Draped Female Figure Leaning On A Pedestal von Pietro Antonio Novelli zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.788,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pietro Antonio Novelli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Neptune, Standing, Facing Left, A Dolphin At His Feet im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.931,63).
